Terms & Conditions

These terms set out the basis on which Khwan Law provides legal services and on which you use this website. We have written them plainly and, where the nature of our work allows, without unnecessary formality.

Last updated: 12 May 2025

1. Who We Are

Khwan Law is a family law practice based in Bangkok, Thailand. Our office is located at 119 Yaowarat Road, Samphanthawong, Bangkok 10100. We can be reached by telephone at +66 2 743 9051 or by email at [email protected].

We practice in accordance with the professional standards applicable to legal practitioners in Thailand. References to "we", "us", or "our" in these terms mean Khwan Law.

2. What These Terms Cover

These terms apply to your use of this website and, where a separate engagement letter has not been provided, to the initial stages of any professional relationship with Khwan Law. For ongoing or formal matters, we provide written engagement terms that set out the specific scope, fees, and conditions applicable to that matter.

By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you would prefer not to be bound by them, please do not use the site.

3. Information on This Website

The content on this website is provided for general orientation only. It is not legal advice, and reading it does not create a lawyer-client relationship between you and Khwan Law. Legal outcomes depend on the specific facts of each situation, and we encourage you to seek advice tailored to your own circumstances.

We take care to keep information current and accurate, but we make no representations as to its completeness or ongoing accuracy. Thai law, procedural requirements, and official guidance can change, and we recommend confirming any material point directly with us.

Nothing on this website constitutes a contractual offer. Prices listed represent indicative starting fees for our services and are subject to the scope agreed in a written engagement.

4. Our Services

Khwan Law provides three categories of family legal service:

The precise scope of any engagement is confirmed in a written agreement before work commences. We explain our terms openly, and we are happy to answer any questions about them before you decide to proceed.

5. Fees and Payment

Indicative fees are published on our website. The fee applicable to your matter will be confirmed in writing at the outset. Where a matter becomes more complex than initially anticipated, we will discuss any adjustment with you before proceeding further.

Fees are payable in Thai Baht (THB). Payment terms are set out in the written engagement for each matter. We do not charge undisclosed fees, and any disbursements or third-party costs are explained in advance.

If you have any concern about fees at any point, please raise it with us directly. We prefer to address these matters openly rather than have them become a source of unease.

6. Confidentiality

We treat all information shared with us — whether in an initial consultation, by email, or in the course of a formal engagement — with strict confidentiality. We do not disclose client information to third parties except where required by law, with your consent, or where strictly necessary to carry out the services you have asked us to provide.

This obligation continues after any engagement ends. Our handling of personal data is described more fully in our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

The text, design, and content of this website are owned by or licensed to Khwan Law. You may read and print pages for your own personal reference, but you may not reproduce, copy, or distribute any part of this site for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.

Documents and advice we prepare for you in the course of an engagement remain our work product until fees in respect of them have been settled in full.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Thai law, Khwan Law's liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the fees paid in respect of the specific matter to which that claim relates.

We are not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on general information published on this website, or for matters outside the scope of an agreed engagement. This does not affect any rights you may have that cannot be excluded by law.

We maintain professional indemnity insurance appropriate to our practice.

9. Third-Party Links

Where this website contains links to external sites, they are provided for convenience only. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those sites. Their use is at your own discretion.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Revised terms will be posted on this page with an updated date. If you continue to use this website after a revision, you are considered to have accepted the updated terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. Any dispute arising in connection with them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Thai courts, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

12. Questions

If you have any questions about these terms, or if there is anything you would like to discuss before engaging our services, please contact us. We are happy to explain anything that is unclear.
